DESKRIPSI LOWONGAN KERJA
- Our client is one of the largest conglomerates based in the Solomon Islands with businesses in hardware and building materials distribution, properties, automotive distribution and meat processing.
- Reporting to the General Manager of Hardware and Building Materials Division, the Inventory and Supply Chain Manager will ensure an efficient and effective inventory management and supply chain for this business.
- A competitive expatriate package will be offered.
THE ROLE
· This position is based in Solomon Islands.
· Working with retail and sales and marketing teams to develop demand forecast.
· Preparing material requisition plan to satisfy forecasted demands.
· Placing orders to suppliers for inventories based on re-order recommendations provided by models, internal or customers’ requests.
· Identifying, evaluating and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
· Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favourable pricing, payment terms and mutually beneficial agreements.
· Managing specialised procurement for tender contracts.
· Overseeing the importing and delivery of goods and services.
· Develop warehouse operation systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods.
· Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
· Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
· Monitoring inventory levels and implementing inventory management strategies to manage stock levels and avoid shortages or excesses.
· Identify shortages and bottlenecks in the inventory control tasks and resolve the same through continuous improvements.
· Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
· Overseeing the importing and delivery of goods and services.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
· Hands-on experience in inventory management.
· Proven experience in procurement operation.
· Hands-on experience in managing warehouse and transport logistics.
· Experience in maintaining ERP and supporting IT systems to support inventory management and supply chain operations.
· Data analytical and decision-making skills.
· Experience in supervising a team.
· Relevant degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration.
· Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
· Industry knowledge in retail of hardware and building materials.
· Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
· Highly organised and detail oriented.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to speak and write English competently.
